Ever wish that you could watch a talk show where compelling subject matter, NOT gossip, is topic #1? Where defining moments in a career are explored? Where the evolution of a skill is discussed? Where an inside look at what makes talent tick drives the conversation? Speakeasy, now in its first season on American Public Television, features superstar artists, interviewed by a host of their choosing in a 55 minute format.
Filmed on a 1930s era set located in Manhattan’s historic McKittrick Hotel, the look and feel of the show is soft and intimate. One singular talent, chatting intimately with an interviewer of their choosing, whether a journalist, creative partner, mentor, peer or friend. As a viewer, you have the unique perspective of viewing an intimate, frank discussion. An artist may choose to illustrate a point through their instrument of choice, but Speakeasy is NOT a performance show. It’s all about the conversation.
